Territorial analysis by industry
No precise perimeter or theme was imposed on me for this project. I was therefore free to develop my own ideas step by step, based on a vast and open territory: that of the Alpine Piedmont, at the junction between the Alps and the Po plain, between Lombardy and Ticino. This area of transition, stretching between Biella and Bergamo, offered me a rich terrain in which to develop a personal reading of the landscape.
My analytical work was based on progressive research at different scales: I used maps, models, surveys, drawings and texts to raise questions. Using this method, I sought to formulate a critical stance in relation to contemporary issues facing the region: water management, changes in productive landscapes, rural depopulation and urban transformations.
