Housing in rural and working-class areas
As part of my dissertation, I explored how a so-called «reasoned» habitat can emerge at the intersection of multiple practices: local, social, professional, institutional... Far from a disconnected environmentalism, I defended a pragmatic and measured approach, attentive to the temporalities, the means, and the realities of the territory.
This work draws on the account of my family home's construction, experienced from within, and used as analytical material. Through this building site, perceived as a theatre stage, I studied the roles, interactions, and influences of the various players.
My central question: How is considered housing construction in a rural and popular area built at the intersection of local, social, and professional practices, institutional standards, and the expectations of inhabitants?
